My name is Seun Awodiji. I am an experienced educator with 14 years experience in both teaching and management positions. I am a primary maths expert and in my last role as the Head of Department(maths) at Grange School Lagos, I was responsible for ensuring that my team delivered effectively on the curriculum and learner outcomes were improved. I have a masters degree in education from the University of Nottingham as well as a Bachelor’s degree in education(maths) from the University of Lagos. In the last two years, I have spent a considerable amount of time researching on ways to better engage children in maths in order to improve learner outcomes and I am excited to share that with you.
Green Obsidian Edu was born in May 2018 and in some of our past personal projects, I have led and managed the Newbie Teacher Conference, a free event for over 80 teachers where my team and I shared our experiences as newbie teachers and how we developed ourselves to be exceptional teacher leaders. The free event then led to an 8-week online mentoring program for new teachers guiding them through the rudiments of teaching and we have since graduated over 30 teachers. Similarly, I have conducted a 4-week intensive master class for maths teachers, where I shared from my wealth of experience what it takes to be an outstanding maths teacher.
Furthermore, I have also spent the last year upskilling and getting myself into new waters. I am a certified project manager with a PMP certification and a Google project management certification.
I look forward to sharing my wealth of knowledge and experience with schools, educators and parents.
